Biography

Artistic Director of Ulster Touring Opera Dafydd Hall Williams trained at the Oxford School of Drama before attaining a BA and MA at Aberystwyth University. Prior to founding Ulster Touring Opera in 2019, Dafydd worked with opera companies across the UK and Ireland such as Wexford Festival Opera, Welsh National Opera, English Touring Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Buxton Festival and Mid Wales Opera. Dafydd has been a visiting director for the Vocal Studies department at Guildhall School of Music and Drama since 2015.

Dafydd’s work so far with UTO has included producing a cross-border tour, running workshops for young performers in Enniskillen, Omagh and Dublin, and leading projects to explore the potential for opera using augmented reality technology.
